He Admitted He Didn’t Like Me

During lunch at an event last June I was
seated at the same table as a marketer I
had mixed feelings about.

In fact, as a customer I got after him for
not delivering some of the goods I paid
for (he delivered and you can believe me
when I say I wasn't very likable in the
process).

Come to find out he had even stronger
feelings against the X-man. It seems this
gnarly, outspoken persona hadn't made a
friend. Flat out: he did not like me.

I can only imagine what was going through
his mind when I decided to get up out of
my seat and take the empty seat next to
him.

As it turned out, we had a lot in common,
wound up talking for over 6 hours and he
invited me to speak at his next event.

I can honestly say that Stu McLaren is
one of the absolute hands-down best people
I've ever met in my life. He really cares
about what he's doing and how it's helping
others - I think that's where we found our
common ground.

Although our styles are about as different
as can be, the vision is the same and I
hope you'll join us on this one:
