Right now this is just a rumor, but I’ve heard from enough credible sources to say it’s a sure thing coming.
Google Adwords will soon be implementing a new rule that requires the display URL and destination URL reside on the same URL.
In case it’s not obvious, that means that using an affiliate link to point to a domain name you don’t know isn’t going to fly much longer.
This is another obvious move on Google’s part to weed out affiliates who don’t contribute value to the sales process. And it also impacts a few things I’ve been doing / had included in the Affiliate Black Book.
What this means is what I’ve been teaching people all along: you need to have your own site, your own sales process. You need to take control because “they” are out to exterminate you.
