Agency Adwords Elite
I have something hot for the hardcore Adwords junkies. This isn't the same retread info by hucksters like Chris X - These are bonafide Adwords pros who've done campaigns for BMW, Nokia, The Four Seasons Hotels, Sirius Radio and more (and no, not as affiliates although they're going to hook up affiliates too). This is a limited offer - only 500 copies being sold and then we'll see what's next. Seriously, there's some great stuff here. X

Hi John,
Not sure where to post this one, but I’ll try here.
Back in April Google (allegedly) started enforcing Dest URL = Display URL. I got dinged for it so I stopped.
Yesterday I was poking around on Adwords and couldn’t believe the amount of direct linking that’s still going on.
How are people getting around it? I’d heard that iFraming might work (but doesn’t clickbank disallow that for their products), or that by using the KW dest url you can get round it also.
THanks,
Frank

Hi Frank,
I’ve noticed for quite a while that Google isn’t enforcing the display must match landing page URL rule.
I don’t think there’s any trick at all - in fact, I’ve used display URLs in the last six months that just flat don’t go where they say they’re going - no masking, Iframes, etc.
Example - http://www.mysite.com
you click the link and go to my destination URL
http://www.yoursite.com
I think this has always been a human review situation - my guess is that Google, with all of their rule changes, has possibly discovered loss of revenue from the single revenue rule and they don’t have as much to gain by enforcing it as they thought - but they’re not going to publicly say that.
Anyway - this is all just my opinion and what Google does could change tomorrow. At the worst, do it and stop doing it when Google disapproves your ad (which may never happen).
All the best to you -
