Black Hat Jack Interview
Here’s a link to an interview I did earlier this year for one of my cooler customers, Black Hat Jack. I think there’s some good stuff in it.
Speed Ppc
This Thursday, I think, Speed PPC is launching.
If you haven’t heard of Speed PPC, it sounds like some wicked cool software - the idea is that you can put together hundreds, even thousands of Adwords campaigns in minutes.
Let me tell you about my biggest current problem: time to try everything that I get exposed to.
Really, it’d be damn easy for me to write up a promo, send it out touting Speed PPC as the greatest thing I’ve seen to date and collect a fat commission check.
Truth is, I haven’t had time to install it, learn how to use, set up Adwords campaigns and test them to the point of saying “Buy this, it works” - and I doubt seriously anyone else has either.
Here’s my initial take on Speed PPC - it reminds me a helluva lot, in concept, of Article Bot.
Although I’m pretty damn anti-Adsense at this date in history, there was a time I LOVED Article Bot - not because it made money for me (it didn’t), but because I saw so much potential I was never quite able to realize.
What’s Article Bot? It’s the original page spinning software - and SO MUCH more. In essence, it makes short work of creating thousands of pages along the lines of “Houston Dentist” . . . “Los Angeles Orthondontist” . . . “Denver Dental Work” - in other words, you enter in two sets of word phrases - like a list of cities, and a list of terms used for “dentist”. Click a button and Article Bot spins out unique and unlimited variations.
The problem with Article Bot was
a) it could so damn much it wasn’t funny
b) it had a STEEP learning curve and
c) it essentially created junk pages (though it could create some really high quality stuff too).
We can also add d) While creator Don Harrold is one of the most brilliant minds I’ve met in IM, he’s also a tad bit erratic. (I’m selling it, I’m not selling it, I’m selling it for a lot . . . no I’m doing cheap monthly payments . . . no, I’m not offering it all anymore . . . no, now it’s freeware . . . nevermind, it’s only $39 a month now - seriously, this is how it played out and if it weren’t so damned nuts I’d swear he was a brilliant marketer)
What does this have to do with Speed PPC? I’m thinking “Article Bot streamlined and designed for PPC” - it’s the same basic concept (in my head), only made for PPC. It has the same tantalizing potential with the same pitfalls (though let’s hope Jay Stockwell, Speed PPC creator, is a little more stable).
Bottom line: This can be a great tool for someone who’s focused and advanced. If you’re new to the PPC game, I strongly recommend you stay away from this candy.
Again, I’ve only read the documentation - I haven’t had time to put it in action and if you’ve got some money to blow on a new toy, I think you’ll probably have fun with this - and I hope you make some good money while you’re at it because I think the potential is there.

Mastermind X - Are We Having Fun Yet?
In September I’m doing a workshop - Mastermind X.
NOTE: There will only be 35 seats and I already have hundreds on the list saying “I want to attend” (that’s not hype - it’s fact). It will be first come, first in - so if you’re serious about attending, be sure to visit the site and subscribe.
Enrollment will be within the next five days.
Writing copy for this was a blast - here’s a little secret about me and copy writing - if I’m not laughing a little when I write it, I haven’t pushed hard enough.
Man - I pushed hard on this one!
Truth is, I’d hoped it would be A LOT more controversy provoking than it has been.
Case in point: The “castrated lilly” I referred too - it’s almost sad how many people have written me saying “I lost all respect for him when he wrote that”.
I guess I did too -
And at the same time, I recognized something. I’ve created the success I have without playing to guys like that - yes, I sent him a copy of the Black Book DVDs and receipt was never acknowledged.
Others of “these guys” I’ve paid 5K to be in their coaching program and they act like they don’t have a clue who I am when I approach them at a seminar.
To hell with them all - I’m here for you.
I flew out to the Undercover Profits seminar this weekend to do a presentation - no pitching was allowed from the stage. So I spent my time and my money (and delivered my absolute best presentation to date) - for nothing.
And you know what - it was a hell of a lot more fun to teach what I know without
A. Giving you a ten-minute spiel on how great I am or how much money I made in a wee-few hours.
B. Pitching an offer - NO, I don’t enjoy that at all.
Back to Mastermind X . . .
I have a vision for this event - it’s more than a weekend of info-overload and drunken orgy.
My vision is to create a community - something meaningful.
At this event, we won’t have pitches - though we will have offer’s - because, like them or not, you DO get the best offers at seminars. But NO pitching from the stage - this will be different.
And it won’t just be talking heads on stage filling your head with a bunch of not-quite-usable info - you will mastermind with the speakers and you will put what you learn to use . . . mastermind meets workshop.
There’s lot’s more to say - but enough for now.
To you - all the best - X
The Curse Of X
The first time I had to deal with what I’ve dealt with the last three days, I was sixteen.
I’d been pissing blood for days and was too embarrassed to say anything to my parents - explaining WHY I was too embarrassed is too embarrassing to write even now.
Finally, something “passed” and I was in such intense pain I thought I was going to die right then and there - of course I didn’t.
Every two years or so, I have this to deal with - and over the years I’ve become pretty good at separating mind from body - the pain is there, but I do my best to accept it and it becomes minimal. When I resist the pain, or give into panic it’s intense.
The pain has proven a powerful life lesson; what you resist only worsens. Resist your current financial situation and the situation worsens - it doesn’t get better.
It’s law of attraction on a different level than most have experienced - the secret isn’t about “thinking” - the secret is about “feeling”.
Why?
Because you’ve had millions of thoughts in your life - many of them not conscious and therefore you can do nothing about that which you are not conscious of. Nothing exists that you are not conscious of - what exists is what you are conscious of.
The answer to any income goal already exists; are you conscious of it? That’s the question.
The point here, is that a feeling - like a picture - is worth a thousand thoughts. Stress in this moment isn’t the result of ONE THOUGHT - it’s the accumulation of thousands of thoughts that lead up to the one thought that stressed you out - so when you do something about the feeling all of the thoughts are dealt with too - conscious and subconscious.
Anyway, my painful affliction is kidney stones which ain’t fun to live with - but some things are like that and it’s how you feel about what you HAVE to live with that defines the ultimate experience. It’s not Pollyanna, rose-colored fairy woo-woo stuff.
It’s as simple as turning lemons into lemonade and you should also be on the lookout for it - the things YOU despise most in life are showing you a powerful opportunity if you flip it 180-degrees.
The Adwords Black Book probably never would have been written - and probably not as powerfully as it was without the contribution of my shitball ex-boss. He’s still a rinky-dink little bastard, but he’s also STILL sending me a check every month equivalent to what he paid me for tolerating his micro-managing paranoia for 160 hours per month (BTW, when I wrote the ABB that monthly check was about half what it is now).
OK - just want to end by sharing this snippet from a Marlon Sanders email - because it’s true. I have a $100,000 education that got me a J-O-B in a coffee shop - dues paying is required, sorry to break that news - good news is, some people get them paid a lot faster than others.
Think about it. If you spend 4 years in college and yet 80% of the people can NOT get a job in the field they get their degree in and 95% of the graduates make under $100,000 a year, do you REALLY think buying 1 course you study in 3 weeks will do for you what a college degree won't? Please. This is a process. It requires effort and learning. Not magic. I really worry about people who think that buying one inexpensive product (compared to a college education) can do what college can't! I just don't get that. Seriously.
